Artist Statement
I am a painter, sculptor, and glass artist, deeply inspired by the natural world and the intricate layers of personal narrative and emotional resilience. My work often reflects the tension between strength and fragility, using organic forms and textures that explore the beauty in imperfection. One of the unique aspects of my practice is my specialization in glass mosaics, where I incorporate Italian 24-carat gold smalti from Murano, Italy. This material, with its rich history and brilliance, brings an added layer of depth and meaning to my pieces, symbolizing both opulence and the passage of time.
I love working with contrasting elements—whether it's combining industrial metals with delicate details or playing with vibrant colors like pinks, blacks, whites, and metallics—to evoke a sense of energy and contemplation. My glasswork, in particular, captures light and space in ways that transform a room, inviting viewers to engage with the work on a more emotional level.
Each piece I create is a reflection of my personal journey, with a focus on healing, connection, and the transformative power of creativity. I believe in making art that inspires reflection and brings people together through shared experiences. My hope is that, through my work, I can foster a space for balance, belonging, and the exploration of life’s complexities
Proposed medium - Depending on the size of the substrate I could add Italian smalti to the piece as well as stained glass along with painting the piece- without seeing it, it may be difficult to explain this part but willing to use all mixed media types that I specialize in, based on what the budget will pay for.
