A new collection is taking shape.

Rooted in the centuries-old tradition of Roman micro mosaic, these intimate works are created by hand using Italian glass and traditional Roman stucco. Each tiny piece of Italian filati (glass threads) is individually cut and placed, allowing color, texture, and detail to emerge on an incredibly small scale.

The pieces shown here offer just a glimpse of what is to come. Over the next year, I’ll be expanding this collection, exhibiting new work, and teaching the traditional art of micro mosaic in workshops throughout the United States.

I’m excited to bring this extraordinary old-world process into my own contemporary practice—and to share more of the collection as it unfolds.
